Prolouge

"Taiya? Taiya?! What are you doing down here??"
A man of his late twenties yelled down a flight of stairs into the pitch black basement far below. From the darkness a small voice could be heard, a young voice.
"Reading.."
From the wall of black, a young girl climbed the steep stairs towards her father. She appeared to be no older than three or four years of age. At the peak of her ascent she was pulled into her fathers embrace.
"Taiya, i told you not to come down here. It's dangerous. Why do you insist on breaking your promise?" His soft voice was a mixture between anger, worry and releif. Taiya looked up at him with large green eyes, reflecting the light cast upon them both by stunted candles.
"I was curious..."
"Curiosity killed the cat, my darling." And with that comment he lifted her up into his arms, trusting her not to break the lock again. After all, she was a very smart child.

He started to asend the celler steps, but looked back into the darkness, eyes locking onto the book his daughter was reading. He mumbled a spell. The black book instantly returned to a chest in the courner of the room, he shook his head and kissed his daughters forhead. He took her away from this mysterious celler, sealing the door.

The chest rumbled and smoke seeped out of the joints, rising up into one black mass. One single eye formed into a frown. It hissed and roared as it got sucked back into the chest.

Two years had passed since that incident and little Taiya Way has not broken her promise since. Her father has gone away on private business and has been gone over a month.

Taiya waits for her father in her bedroom window, every morning expecting to see his carriage being pulled up the hill. Each morning she would ask the servants if he was home yet. All of the answers being the same - no.

The rest to her, was all a bit blurry the memories all mixing into one short burst......
(just thinking this would be better for the comic cuz otherwise it would be too long in my opinion... to have like fading memories. like part of one, and then it goes to part of another, taking all the important bits but leavin out the long parts >w>; )

The doorbell rang.

Taiya instantly jumped up and ran through the many rooms until she reached the main hall, a servant was already at the door and was answering it. Taiya's eyes lit up with delight as she thought about her father stepping through the doors to pick her up and cuddle her. But to Taiya's dissappointment it was not her father. It was a gentleman in a uniform. Holding a sealed letter.

Mary, had entered her room, taking a place behind the tiny girl, who was watching out the window. "sweetie ... i think its time you stopped waitin' for you father"

Tai looked back at Mary, she noticed the same letter was in her hands. " But pa's guna be home soon.. he promised me. "

Mary shook her head, she had to tell taiya. " Your Pa's not coming back Taiya. "

Taiya looked up at her confused. " Why is Pa not coming back? He said he would....."

Mary bit her lip and lifted tai into her arms, she sat on the bed with her. " Your Pa's been in an accident, he's gone up to heaven now baby."

As the words sunk into Taiya's mind tears started to swell in her eyes. Mary held her closer to her and tai suddenly burst into wails and cries for her father.

She had cried herself to sleep in mary's arms, her cheeks soked. But while she was asleep, Tai dreamed.

The dream was filled with magic, the symbols she had noticed around the house glowed in her dream. A deep voice echoed through her small frame.

"You ...... are the next....... Magic awaits you...... You must not fear..... Be strong young one... You are... a Magician. "

(possible needs some work onto that bit B< needs to explain what she is and why. the last Way to be able to lean and stuff. XD)

That was the begging of change for Taiya. And her story now begings...


(now :3 she would have read all the books and been studyng magic! what happens next would be the begging of the proper comic .w. 'present time'. i think it should start with pan walking through the town. emphasising the mark and huge ears XD)
