Chapter One

FFFFU >BC why wont you send?????

By this time it was late december, nearing the time of Christmas. The small village ajacent to Taiya's mansion was all in a bustle, gearing up for their special holiday. The lamp posts were brightly decorated with holly, tinsel and lights, giving the town a radience of colour stark against the pure white snow.

Amongst the agitated people darting around franticly searching for the perfect gifts for their loved ones, a strange figure stood out. A young man stood tall amongst the crowd, although the way he stood and held himself suggested that he was trying his hardest to blend into the School of frantic humans. Bright, odd coloured eyes peered out from underneath a snow-laden hood and stared around the town in awe. It had been a long time since he had seen something like this. Curiously he stepped up to a post and touched a strand of tinsel, as if seeing the substance for the first time. In fact, he was acting very much like a child placed into a strange environment.

Releasing the tinsel from his grasp the figure shivered and breathed into his hands in an attempt to warm them, he started following the crowd towards the town square, where some sort of concert was playing. A very loud concert. The crowd was heaving and swaying, having a great time; unwillingly bumping and squashing the strange boy. In one particularly violent shove, his hood slipped, revealling his odd appearance

One of those bustling people was Taiya Way. She was out on the hunt for a new maid, sticking notices on windows and asking around. She tried squeazing passed people and ran out of a cloud, crashing into pan, of course falling over.
" OOFT! " She yelped and she fell onto her bum in the snow.

The boy- named pan- yelped loudly in an almost Kanine manner. He too teetered and fell into the snow opposit Taiya. He rubbed his eyes and looked at her from beneath curtains of snow-white hair, dazed. His large, elf-like ears were perked in alarm. Quickly, Pan pulled his hood back up and jumped up; almost slipping over in the process and slipped through the crowd away from the strange, red-headed girl.

Taiya blinked at the tall boy that had fallen opposite her. With her Knowlege about demons she recognised him for one instantly. As he jumped up and started moving away from her she got up and ran after him. Not letting her chance slip to complete her fathers dream.
" H-HEY WAIT UP! "

After seeing the girl start after him, Pan's fast walk quickly turned into a run. He was trying his hardest not to bump into people as he ran through the slippery streets.

The boy finally reached the edge of town. unfortunatley however, the town was on a rather steep hill; transformed by the snow into a cold, icey slide into the forest below. Pan noticed the drop and stopped running, skidding to the edge and almost loosing his balance. He breathed a sigh of releif once he realised he was safe, momentarily forgetting about that mad lady chasing him.

Taiya was running after him, she noticed him stop and tried to stop herself but it was too late. The young girl crashed into pan, sending them both down the hill, tumbling and rolling in the show.

Pan yelped as they rolled undignifiedly down the hill and landed face-first in the snow with his bottom high in the air. The boy groaned quietly and pulled his head out of the snow pile and brushed himself off, shivering slightly from the cold. He looked at taiya and uttered in a quiet, timid voice, Why are you chasing me?

The girl stood up from a pile of snow and brushed herself down, shivering and teeth chattering from the cold. " I-I was going to say sorry for bumping into you.. a-and i wanted to ask you something... -oo- ''' " She know's it might be crazy asking a person she's only just met if they are a demon, but she had to try didnt she?

Pan looked at her oddly and frowned. he found it difficult to understand what she was saying, especially since he was not good at speaking himself. Though he DID notice she was cold. Bluntly, the boy took off his battered-looking, fur-lined coat and put it around her, instantly forgetting that she just chased him through the streets and knocked him down a hill.

What did.. you want.. ask? He spoke slowly and uncertainly.

The girls cheeks turned rosey as he wrapped the coat around her, she sniffed and looked up into his beg odd coloured eyes. " T-This might seem rude... B-But i was wondering if you are a demon... " She gulped and had another look at his features.

He frowned again and tilted his head to the side much like a dog would.
"What is Demon?" he questioned as he sat down opposite her. although shivering, he didn't seem that affected by the cold, despite only wearing a think white shirt and black trousers.
"Are you Demon too?"

She shook her head. "Well no... not exactly.. but im researching them.... So... you'renot a demon? ... " Her eyes looked sad as she saw her dream slipping away from her.

What is demon? his large ears drooped slightly as he saw he was upsetting her. Maybe i can help you find demon? Did you lose it? A cold wind blew at that moment, sending shivers down both of them, also blowing Pan's hair out of his face, revealing a small mark to the right of his forehead, almost conceiled by his long hair.

Tai noticed this mark and smiled to herself, her plans changing. " lets get out of the cold first... Do you have anywhere to go? ... " She looked at him, he looked like a traveller, which she knew he had nowhere.

Pan stared at her blankly and shook his head. Cant go back now. .n. too late.... he frowned again as snow started falling from the sky again. He shivered and his ears drooped more. cold. ;O;



Don't worry he becomes more literate later XD

She smiled warmly up at him, she stood on her cold toes, wrapping his coat back around him " Thank you... Follow me. You can come back with me okay?" She took his cold hand and towed him through the snow. Heading towards a huge hill in the distance.

Pan flinched slightly at the touch. it has been a long time since he had received friendly human contact. The boy felt his cheeks redden as they walked.
"Okay, miss lady... .n. ......"

After a while they reached the Way mansion. Pan stared up at the enormous building and backed away slightly. he had never been inside such a large building.
Big..... he looked at Tai, S-safe?

Tai headed up to the huge front doors. She looked back and saw that he was nervous, she nodded. " Its safe ^oo^ ".. She then opened the huge doors and walked in, waiting for him to follow her, the warmth flooding out..

Trusting the girl, Pan stepped inside without further hesitation. He seemed to be grateful for the warmth, the winter months were never kind to him, evident by his gaunt, starved appearance. The boy stared at taiya as if waiting further orders.
Thank.. you.... .n.

The girl closed the huge doors, locking them from behind. " No problem. you can stay here as long as you like ^u^ Are you hungry?" She took his coat and huge it up so it could dry, she did the same with her coat and ushered him into the huge kitchen.

Taiyas mention of food triggered interest instantaneously. Pan nodded vigorously. Y-yes OnO
As if on cue, his stomach let out tremendous growl. .//////. ..... he placed his hands over it.

She chuckled and began getting food items ready for making a huge pot of stew that would last for a few days (well it should do, i imagine pan to finish it in the night XD). " My name is Taiya Way. What is your name? " she looked up at him as she was getting some carrots for the fridge.

In this time frame i imgine that there is little energy like electric and cars... i want them to have carriages and horses to get around ;v; Only a few people have cars... in some parts.. they could keep like an old tradition.... but then in others they have boats and hard working societies.. ? its like a mixture. .w.

Pan stared into the pot hungrily then shifted his gaze to taiya. He mumbled her name to himself, getting the words right before repeating it louder for her to hear, Tai-ya .u. <33 he grinned, seemingly proud of himself. although when his turn came to state his name he had to think for a bit. Dont remember name... thogh... lady once called me Pan >.>

Yeah me too xD <33 relatively old society but not completely ice age -3-' dont forget they have mobile phones and computers xD (although John always hated computers :B hence why there aint one in the mansion)

Taiya started to chop up carrots, potatos, swede, brocoli, oinions, mushrooms and various herbs. she bunged them all into the water filled pot. " Then your name is Pan. Nice to meet you -v-"

He seemed to be catching onto the whole 'language' thing relatively quickly.
"I think it is =D nice... to meet yo too, Tai-san. ouo" he peered over her shoulder again. almost touching her. No sense of personal boundried ¬3¬
